Meet our Church Retreat Speaker - Rev. Allen Black

Allen Ranold Black was born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama. Allen professed faith in Christ at ten and accepted God’s call into ministry at the age of fifteen and was licensed and ordained in Birmingham, AL. He was active in the Boy Scouts and received the Eagle Scout and God and Country awards. He served as Youth Director, Associate Pastor and Senior Pastor of churches in Alabama while getting his BS degree in Religion and Philosophy at Samford University in Birmingham. Allen received a Master of Religious Education (MRE) from New Orleans Theological Seminary and a Master of Divinity (M.Div) with honors from Memphis Theological Seminary. Pastor Allen has served United Methodist churches in Mississippi and Tennessee, and has been under appointment by the Tennessee Conference since 1995, and is presently the District Superintendent of the Columbia District.

Pastor Allen has very graciously accepted our invitation to lead us in our Retreat at Beersheba. The dates are October 21-23, 2016. We will begin on Friday evening and finish with worship service on Sunday morning. A Retreat brochure with all the details is being prepared by the members of the Spiritual Formation Team. Please make a prayerful commitment to attend the Retreat and be blessed!

Be An Organ Donor

STOP!   KEY in on the music, step on the PEDAL and be an organ donor.

Each Sunday we enjoy the beautiful, rich sound the organ brings to the sanctuary. This is an extraordinary instrument and we’re excited to be blessed with the opportunity to have this addition to our music ministry.

Our church is fortunate to have been able to purchase the organ at a discounted price and 12 months same as cash. Monthly payments are $6,200. During this campaign, the Organ committee and Finance Team is asking each of you to step up and make the commitment to help meet this monthly obligation. Organ donor cards may be found in the card racks of the pews and also next to the organ donation basket in the back of the sanctuary. To assist us in planning, please fill out your card and place it in either the collection plate or basket. In writing a check, please note in the memo line “Organ campaign”.

Thank you for your support and for being an “Organ Donor”!

Organ committee: Mary Kay Dempsey, Holly Sanders, Bobby Medlen, Kat Ray, Loyd Mabry
