Join us for Open House on Wednesday, August 14, 5:30-6:30 pm.  See our facility, meet the staff and get more information.

The children are working hard learning letters, numbers, shapes and colors this month. Our classrooms are filled with birds, butterflies and caterpillars, as the children have learned about a, b, and c. There has been lots of painting and coloring. Our three year olds are learning to trace their names and the preschool class has been busy learning and conducting experiments to go along with the five senses. Our one and two year old classes are enjoying lots of learning through music and crafts. We are so thankful for these sweet children and their wonderful teachers.

Our mission at The Sparrow’s Nest is to assist in developing children spiritually, emotionally and academically to soar as the leave the nest.

Curriculum & Environment

We strive to make learning fun at The Sparrow’s Nest’s, but we are also very serious about giving children the education, attention, and care that they deserve.

We believe children excel when they’re placed in an intellectually-engaging environment with teachers who are able to provide personal attention. That’s why a variety of kid-friendly educational toys and creative play centers fill our classrooms. We also strive for a 1:10 teacher-to-student ratio for children at or above four years old, a 1:8 ratio for our three year olds and a 1:4 teacher-to-student ratio in our ones and twos. We have wonderful assistants who help throughout the day.

Each day at The Sparrow’s Nest includes morning praise and prayer time, active play (indoors and out, weather permitting), instructional time, art, snacks, lunch, and rest time (for younger children).

Medical Issues

All of our staff has been CPR and Pediatric First Aid certified. And we know how frustrating it can be if your child comes home with an unexplained scrape or bruise.   At The Sparrow’s Nest, we send home detailed written reports when your child has an accident—that way you know exactly what happened. Of course, if there’s anything more serious than a simple bump, you’ll receive an immediate phone call.

We also know that allergies are a serious safety concern for many parents. If your child has an allergy, we’ll work with you to develop an individual plan to ensure his or her well-being.

Background Checks

A thorough background check is run on every teacher, staff member, and volunteer at The Sparrow’s Nest.  We maintain a zero tolerance policy in the way we use these background checks—no one with a hint of abuse or improper behavior toward children is permitted to work or volunteer in our school. We feel it’s our urgent responsibility to take care of those God has placed in our trust, and we want you to have peace of mind while your children are here.
