Safe Sanctuary Training & Background Check

Safe Sanctuaries is one of the “social structures that are consistent with the gospel” (Book of Discipline, ¶122) allowing our sanctuaries, classrooms, mission encounters, camps and retreats, and all spaces where we gather to worship and serve God to be places of trust. Mandatory training is required for all persons having direct contact with children, youth, and vulnerable adults in all activities that take place in a local congregation and beyond.

Local Church Leader Training for the Stones River District

The Stones River District is hosting a local church leader training on January 26, 2020 from 3-5:30 pm at Tullahoma First United Methodist Church.

All 2020 church leaders are highly encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity for training in your given ministry area for the coming year. Pastor Theresa is a part of the planning team for this event. Workshops will be offered in SPRC, trustees, church council, finance, senior ministries, youth, children, and missions and outreach ministries. Clergy will meet during the workshops.

This training will also seek to connect leaders with leaders from similar ministry areas in other churches, so that we might share resources and ideas to more effectively do the work God is calling us to do.

Please mark your calendars and plan on being a part of this important training opportunity offered by the Stones River District as we strive together to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.
