UMM Men's Breakfast

"Keep Alert, stand firm in your faith, be courageous, be strong."  1 Corinthians 16:13

Greetings!  Recently I had the privilege of attending the Emmaus Walk.  It was very uplifting in many ways and i was challenged spiritually.  God laid a burden in my heart to be more intentional in involving in certain areas of ministry where I could use my God-given gifts and graces.  Currently, I am actively involved in Senior Adult Ministry and now have the desire to revive the Methodist Men's ministry.

Men's ministry is one of the vital ministries of the church.  As committed men, we can make a difference in our families, churches, communities, and the world.  In order to accomplish this, we need to gather together for fellowship, recreation, service, study and accountability.  While this may sound overwhelming, in reality it can be fun and life transforming.

You are invited to join other men for a delicious breakfast on Saturday, June 24th from 7:15-8:45 am in fellowship hall.  You will have a chance to engage in conversation with Rev. Dr. Rick Vance.  We will discuss how United Methodist Men's ministry can help men support each other, the church and the larger community.

Rev. Rick Vance is the Director of Men's Ministry at the General Conference on United Methodist Men.  Prior to coming to GCUMM, he served as lead pastor at Ebenezer UMC in Newark, DE.  He holds degrees in Radiologic Technology and Adult Education and worked in the health care field for 12 years prior to becoming a pastor. He has a Master of Divinity and a Doctorate in Leadership Excellence, from Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, DC.  He is the co-founder of "Temple Keeper Ministry', a mninistry devoted to physical and spiritual health and wholeness.  He is a national and international speaker, speaking on topics including Men's Ministry, Leadership Development and Small Group Ministry.
